Hello and Welcome to my little blog!
My name is Nyela d’Endel and I am so lucky to be a stay-at-home mum of 2 boys, ages 7 and 4. I live in the great city of Toronto, in the wonderful country of Canada with my supportive and handsome husband and our 2 ‘krazy kids’.
I am also a self-taught crochet artist with about 8 years of experience, starting when I was pregnant with my first child. When I found out I was pregnant, I wanted to personally make something for my little one with the hopes that one day he might pass it on to a little one of his own. I knew how to knit but wasn’t very good at it. I’d always drop or pick up extra stitches and my work never look proper. My mother once tried to teach me to crochet, but I just couldn’t follow along. Holding the hook the way she showed me just felt wrong and I just couldn’t get the hang of it. It wasn’t until that day, when the test showed positive and after all the commotion and excitement of learning I was going to be a Mum sunk in, that I decided to look up crocheting tutorials online and buy a few ‘How-to’ books and teach myself the craft of crochet. I came across this set of videos that showed me step-by-step instructions on each beginner stitch, and I had a much easier time learning to crochet; within a couple of hours, I was crocheting up a storm. Then I bought a crochet book on the different stitches and patters I could learn and another book on granny stitches and crocheting in the round. After all that, it just came so easy to me.
I love crocheting, it calms me and I get great pleasure from completing my projects. I just started writing my own patterns and exploring my inner artist! I will be posting free patterns that I create, so make sure to check out the Free Patterns page for all my patterns.
I’m a very social person and I love receiving comments, feedback, and just hearing from others, so please, feel free to leave a comment or drop me a line at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for visiting my blog, I really hope you enjoyed your stay and will come back and visit soon.
